Nathalie Armstrong
Student, Teacher, and Franco-Ontarienne in Sudbury, ON, Canada
Hello, my name is Nathalie Armstrong. I am 23 years of age and am from Loretto Ontario, which is a small town situated close to Orangeville. I am a 4th year education student at Laurentian University studying French as my major and Religion as my minor. I was raised in a bilingual family, my father speaking English and my mother primarily french, leading me to become a very proud franco-ontarienne. Due to my french upbringing, I attended two french schools Saint-Jean and Renaissance up until grade 8 where I had my first experience at an English public school called Huron heights in Newmarket from grade 9 to 12. Huron Heights Secondary School is where I gained all of my confidence and where I learned to have a voice when it comes to my own education. Growing up, I always had a passion for learning new things; whether it was with travelling, learning about hunting and fishing or simply just learning a new subject in school, I was always up for a new adventure with my education. I never grew out of my love for education and still to this day take any opportunity I can to travel and learn more. I think that my want to learn and improve is always a perfect reason for me to go into the teaching profession where I will have the opportunity to share my love of knowledge with the students around me. Teaching is just as much as a passion to me as learning is, and with teaching, I will never stop learning.
