Nathalie Stucky

Tokyo, Japan.

I was born and raised mostly in Switzerland. I lived in Iran, Iraq, and Thailand as a child. I was a competitive swimmer in Switzerland for more than 10 years and worked at Jiji Press' Geneva office in the UN for 2 years. I now work as an independent reporter/fixer in Tokyo, where I came in June 2011 to cover Japan's Northern tsunami hit regions. My mother is a native of Sendai, and my grand mother was from Ishinomaki. I recently became the chair of a subcommittee of the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan's Freedom of the Press Committee. I learned French, English, German and Japanese as I grew up and I am also currently assisting an investigative journalist in various work. I am above everything Staff Editor and Researcher at Japan Subculture Research Center, since 2011.
