I am a dynamic leader with an eclectic background; diverse academic, cultural, and vocational experience in both the U.S. and internationally.

I have worked in various interrelated sectors: technology, nonprofit, social impact, ministry, and broadcasting. As an organizational and staffing Coach & Consultant, Regional Executive, and Senior Program Director, I typically focus on addressing poverty locally and internationally.

From fundraising to organizational leadership, my roles leverage and develop my passion for making connections for collaboration, keeping me on the leading edge of learning.

As an adoptee, trans-racial adoptive father, and foster parent, I am passionate about expanding the concept of family, especially with people often on the margins.

Originally from Minneapolis, I completed my BA in Communications & Spanish at the University of Minnesota while working in sports broadcasting.

I got my nickname and start in ministry living in Mexico. My graduate work in theology and leadership took place in Eastern Tennessee. My wife and I served for two years in New Orleans just after hurricane Katrina, then moved to Seattle to begin our own family.

I love mountaineering, riding motorcycles, and reading when I'm not watching my four children’s various extracurricular activities. And coffee, always coffee.

I'm committed to dignifying human connections, reframing the purpose of cross-cultural interaction from “doing” to “being."

My buzz words are mission & relationship.

I believe wholeheartedly that how matters. I'm committed to valuing people over projects, and effectiveness over good intentions; holding in tension a humanitarian ethic of service and a professional ethic of competence.
