Nathan Carlson is a composer, songwriter and producer, working out of his home studio with a variety of musical expressions. Nathan released his first EP, entitled "Starfall", on 1 December 2012, under the moniker of The Nathan Carlson Project, with the debut album slated for release in 2013.

Music has played a pivotal role in Nathan's life since a very young age. As a child he was exposed to a broad spectrum of music, from the new age of Jean-Michel Jarre and Kenny G, to the experimental and film music of Vangelis, and the majesty and power of Iron Maiden and ACDC, Nathan grew up with it all. His first instrument was a cheap Casio keyboard around the age of nine, then progressed through various instruments until he found his core in the guitar at age 16. Entranced by the heaviness of Slayer, Metallica and Fear Factory, Nathan spent several years developing his skills as a metal guitarist, often practicing over 8 hours a day.

After playing in several local metal bands with no real success, Nathan decided to take some time from music, refresh his senses and reevaluate his approach and devotion. Invigorated, Nathan decided to reinvent himself as a solo artist. First, he created The Nathan Carlson Project, a musical expression acknowledging his roots in ambient and electronic music. A debut EP "Starfall" was the first release, issued on December 01 2012, and explores the composers deep fascination with the mysteries of the cosmos.

In April 2012 Nathan entered Miracle Studios with producer Michael Kane to begin mixing his debut album, which
continued until September. After an extended break, during which time Nathan focused on his social media presence and researched effective promotion and marketing, Nathan is preparing to return to Miracle Studios to continue mixing the album. He also began composing material for a new as-yet-untitled EP which is set for release before the album.
