Nathan Dube

I am a metalsmith, maker and professor. My work expands on my interest in childhood and play by exploring their relationship to humor, aggression, masculinity, and how the contemporary adult male identity is constructed in American culture. The work uses childhood pranks and toys, reinterpreted for the high-end adult market, to highlight the aggressive and sometimes violent ways in which men interact with one another.
