Nathan Gort
Mortgage Originator, Finance, and lending in Knoxville,Tn
I was born and raised in Hilton Head, South Carolina, where our family business covered construction and real estate. For fun, we played all kinds of sports -- football, golf, tennis, soccer, baseball and basketball. My parents would bring my two brothers, my sister and me to the Great Smoky Mountains for vacation.
I was happy to return to East Tennessee for college; I had a football scholarship to Carson-Newman, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in financial economics with a minor in accounting. I started my career at Vanderbilt Mortgage, and I decided to make East Tennessee my home.
After several years with Vanderbilt, I was recruited by a bank and became a personal banker. At the bank, I had several responsibilities and promotions. It was there that I learned how much I loved helping people with their personal investments, mortgages and everyday banking.
That makes sense, because I especially enjoy coaching others, which comes from playing sports all my life. I still enjoy playing volleyball and basketball, as well as getting out on the lake. In both my personal and professional lives, it’s so satisfying to share my skills with someone else and see them enjoy learning from me.
As a mortgage originator, I combine that passion for coaching with my education and my work experience to help people reach their goals for home ownership. I look at their personal financial information, I listen carefully to their ideas, and I help them win by connecting them to the best products, rates and services.
