Let me start this off with a little Story:
My friend and I were just running on that cold winter day, moving in the rhythm of each other's footsteps. Upon coming up to a small mound of snow on the sidewalk we opted to go over it instead of around it. This lead to what I can only describe as an unintended belly flop into the snow. As well as the short-lived laughter my friend had before he too faced the same fate I did. Both of us, lying in the snow, out of breath, were happy, not because we were running but because of the great moment that running had provided us.
I feel it is important to look back on times like this, where it might be a little embarrassing, a little awkward, or a little sad and smile. I know that the time I tried to make cookies with the oven on broil is something I can always laugh at with my family, even though the burnt smell lingered for days. Or the time when I may or may not have skied right into a tree because I wasn't paying attention. Life is about learning and living no matter what happens.
There are often limitations on what we are allowed to do in life, but once we overcome those it makes life better. One cannot simply start skiing down black diamonds without first falling on the bunny hill a few times. I know because I have fallen a lot. I knew this in middle school and put in the effort to fix and improve who I was both mentally and physically. I know I still am not the best, far from it, but as I continue to work towards what I want I'm still getting better and that's what is most important.
As the future comes I, nor anyone else know what will happen, but I sure know I will have a smile to great it.
