Nathaniel Foster
The name’s Nathaniel Van Foster but most people call me “Nate” for short. I am assuming that since you’re visiting my page you’d like to know a thing or two about me. I’ll try not to bore you so listen up! I am a 25 year old guy who lives in the Town of Signal Mountain. It’s a small cozy town just 15-20 minutes north of Chattanooga, Tennessee. I've lived up there for about 4 years now and loved the community so much that I decided to purchase my first home on Signal in February 2010. I work for the Hamilton County government as an Electoral database programmer and voting machine technician. I am also a member of the Tennessee Association of County Election Officials. I consider myself somewhat of a polymath. I like to learn about anything and everything. I am a very driven individual who strives to be successful in life. Besides working for the government I am Co-owner of the Bit Busters, a business that repairs and builds computers. I am a webmaster and technology consultant for several different small businesses and organizations. I am also the Director of Communications for the GBCF. I know how to have fun too. I'm not necessarily a party animal, but I’m certainly no stick in the mud either. I've been described by friends as having a satirical sense of humor. I often draw attention to stupid things that society does and am known for questioning those who blindly follow. I am also known for giving tough love to the people I care about. I hold my friends to the same high standards that I hold myself to and sometimes that can cause us to butt heads. I pride myself in being a problem solver. Individuals often come to me with questions or dilemmas and I terminate the problem. In High school I was put in a special course with less than 10 others that allowed me to troubleshoot and fix the school's computer problems for credit. During this time I was entrusted with administrator passwords and access to every room in the school. During my time in this class I submitted a paper with ways to improve the school's computer and network security after auditing some of their practices. Most of these suggestions were implemented during my stay. From an early age I have had an interest in learning how things work. One of my grandfather's was a veteran electrician and the other retired from the Air-force working on jet engines. My father also makes a living as a mechanical engineer. Needless to say, the urge to tinker with things, out of curiosity, came pretty natural
