Elmo Morada
Artist, Teacher, and Musician in Lipa City, Philippines
Hey there!
I’m Elmo Morada, a baritone whose love for music has shaped my life from a young age. My journey began in school talent shows and church choirs, where I developed my passion for singing. As a member of the Canossa Glee Club (high school), I had the opportunity to compete in national competitions, perform at cultural events, and contribute to church services through music.
A significant moment in my musical path came in 2018 when I was chosen as the soloist for the Philippines' Catholic song of the year, “Stay with Me, Lord”. That experience, along with my commitment to music, led to receiving the St. Cecilia Award for Excellence in Music upon graduating from Canossa Academy in Lipa City.
Choral music has always been at the heart of my work, which is why I pursued further studies at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music. Currently, I’m a 5th-year student, studying Music Education with a focus on Chorale Conducting under Prof. Fidel Calalang Jr. Outside of my studies, I’m proud to be part of two choirs: MusicaLipa in my hometown and the world renowned UST Singers.
Beyond choral music, I’ve ventured into solo performance as well. In 2022, I went on to win the championship at the “Palihan sa Pag-awit ng Kundiman 2022" competition, representing my hometown, Lipa City, against other towns of Batangas province. I’ve also recorded songs for the UST Conservatory of Music, including "Kailangan Pa Rin Kita" and "Paskong Awit", both composed by former Dean of the UST Conservatory of Music, Mr. Antonio Africa, and participated in “Ginintuang Pagdiriwang”, the official song for the 50th anniversary of the Archdiocese of Lipa.
I’ve had the privilege of touring internationally with both the UST Singers and MusicaLipa, performing in countries like Germany, Italy, Spain, Taiwan, Singapore, and Korea in 2023. As I continue to grow and explore my musical journey, I’m excited for the opportunities ahead of me as I share my voice to you.
