I am a person with several hobbies and interests. I am, by no stretch of the imagination, perfect or masterful at any of these pursuits. However, I am grateful that my parents introduced me to the world of music.

Like many Asian parents with musical aspirations for their children, my parents started me with the piano to get my feet wet in music at a young age. As a child, I despised the piano; I refused to practice and would complain for hours.

Soon enough, my parents switched me over to the violin at the age of 13. By this time, I was mature enough to practice on my own time and genuinely enjoyed performing with the violin.

My next step led me to the high school's string orchestra, where I was shocked by the sheer talent of the other musicians that I would be performing alongside. This realization sparked my motivation to improve my technical skills as I desired to prove my spot in the orchestra. I would meet some of my closest friends and even my roommate as we bonded over the harmonious sounds produced from our instruments. My memories of the times my orchestra and I won countless state events will be unforgettable.

As I begin my chaotic college life, I am looking forward to pursuing my musical hobby and creating memorable experiences with skilled musicians.
