Nathan Matthews
Stage Manager and Event Producer
For more than 25 years, Nathan has worked as a Stage Manager on a number of large scale West End musicals including The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, The Lion King, Bombay Dreams, Monty Python’s Spamalot, and MAMMA MIA!
After launching the UK’s first radio station for theatre in 2004, he co-founded reelkandi, an online entertainment and lifestyle video-on-demand television channel, producing original format features and covering major entertainment events.
For 7 years, he produced the platform’s coverage of all major theatre and film events, scheduling and conducting interviews with major stage and screen talent for red carpet and junket content. By 2012, the channel attained a global reach of 70 million interview views a month.
In 2010, he produced the first live online webcast of the Olivier Awards (the UK equivalent of Broadway’s Tony Awards) on behalf of the Society of London Theatre. After a decade away from TV broadcast, the ceremony was viewed by over 113,000 people. As a direct result, the Olivier Awards returned to TV screens in 2011, for which he produced the full online red carpet and official afterparty coverage.
In 2012, Nathan returned to radio, where for the past 14 years he has produced The Curtain Up Show, a live weekly chat show on Resonance 104.4fm discussing London’s thriving theatre scene. In this time, he has booked almost 1000 guests onto the show.
In addition, he has produced for onstage TV, creating video content for top London hotels, on screens in over 3200 taxi cabs across the capital, and as part of British Airways’ in-flight entertainment.
For the past three years, Nathan has been Production Stage Manager for the London Eurovision Party.
