I have spent practically all my life loving football and in particular the Seattle Seahawks. From elementary school to now, I stayed with the Seahawks and they have given me so many moments that I will always remember.

It started in the 2013 NFC Championship game in the NFL between the 49ers and the Seahawks. There were only thirty seconds left, the crowd was screaming in the stands where all you see is red and blue, when 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick stepped back and launched the ball downfield towards wide receiver Michael Crabtree. It all happened so suddenly, and my eyes were glued to the screen watching the action. The ball seemed to hang in the air for minutes until suddenly a hand knocked away the ball from the receiver and it ended up being intercepted! Richard Sherman made the game saving play the deflect the ball to his teammate for an interception. What stayed with me the most though was Sherman’s postgame comments. He said, “Well, I'm the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that's the result you gonna get! Don't you ever talk about me!” Seeing his passion, dedication, and confidence inspired me to become a lifelong Seattle Seahawks fan.

Being a diehard Seahawks fan has not always been easy. Ever since that season things have been looking downhill since. The most notable game since then was the next season. We made it all the way to the Super Bowl, where in the final minute we loss the game on a turnover which is, to this day, the most painful loss I have ever experienced as a fan. I ended up crying practically the whole night as I was a heartbroken 7 year-old.

However even with the current trajectory we were on I stick by my team as players such as Shaquem Griffin, a player with only one hand, and Derrick Hall, a player who was premature and barely made it out the hospital, continue to inspire me and teach me lesson which I use in my everyday life. They inspire me to endure and persevere through any tough times I experience. Through my love for the Seahawks, I have watched various film breakdowns and player tape to understand as much as possible about my team. I have spent multiple hours on a lot of days just looking at Seahawks highlights or looking towards the future of the Seahawks.

Finally, on October 20, 2024 I went to the Seahawks vs Falcons game in Atlanta which was my first NFL game I have ever been to! The stadium was awesome and the game was even better as we ended up winning that game in a huge blowout!

Therefore, being a Seahawks fan has shaped who I am and who I plan to be. As I am attending UGA, I plan on being just as big of a fan of the dawgs as I am of the Seahawks. Go dawgs and go hawks!
