I don't have a background in coding.
I'm an educator. Which means I'm creative, flexible, people-oriented and can manage the heck out of a crew and get them to do their best. I run things, but I'm also great on a team, and love to collaborate with other brilliant minds.I know more than a little about using data to drive taking action.
I'm persuasive and inquisitive and do a lot of thinking on my feet. In fact, I thrive thinking on my feet, when I'm not planning out every detail, imagining how the smallest variables can effect a myriad of possible outcomes, and then problem-solving each of those outcomes to ensure the best possible one. Then it's back to the drawing board. Or back in the lab. Or the studio. Or in the learner's seat myself, because I love to learn and I do it fast.
A background in sales has helped me to market our school to discerning prospective parents, and influence a faculty to incorporate project-based learning in their classrooms. Or have my projects with my students be used as a marketing tool to attract clients to our school.
So why all this? Aren't I an educator? Sure. But you have to come with a lot of sauce to be one. You have to know people, relate to people and influence people, daily. Hourly. You have to fight to the death for what you believe in. You have to know that even the smallest and least assuming can be the most mighty.
And while even though I'm looking to expand my career playing field beyond education, you'll see why having someone with a lot of sauce is an incredibly valuable member of your team. You'll have someone who is fearless, who is driven tirelessly by their vision (I don't know a single educator who doesn't put in off-the-clock hours, regularly), and someone who knows a shit ton of math games.
Hit me up, I'd love to meet, and we can create something beautiful.
