Ukrainian Canadian soprano NatalyaGennadi Matyusheva began her vocal studies atthe University of Ottawa, and is a graduate of the Universityof Toronto where she received her Master's degree in OperaticPerformance. Natalya successfully performed lead roles in Medium,Carmen, Le Nozze di Figaro,andDie Zauberflote with University of OttawaOpera company. She appeared in the title role in TheMerry Widow with the Savoy Theatre Society inthe 2010-2011 season and participated in Opera Lyra Ottawaproductions.

Natalya's latest operatic engagements include Amelia inAmelia al ballo,Hélène in La belle Hélène(scenes),Mrs Gross in The Turn of the Screwat the MacMillan Theatre and Antigone in the world's premier ofAntigone at the NewMusic Festival, Toronto. She performed the part of Zemfira in Alekowith Opera Five, Tatiana in Eugene Oneginwith Slavic project Tchai, Donna Anna in DonGiovanniwith Opera Nuova and Opera byRequest, Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tuttewith TSOW, and covered the part of Santuzza in CavalleriaRusticana with Maryland Lyric Opera, USA.Natalya will appear in the title role of Puccini’s SuorAngelica wth Opera Oshawa and as Yaroslavnain Canadian premiere of Borodin's Prince Igorwith Voicebox Opera in 2015.

As the recipient of a full scholarship and severaloperatic awards in the graduate school, Natalya also won NATS SeniorScholarship in 2011; became a finalist of the Czech and Slovak VoiceInternational Music Competition of Montreal in 2013, and a secondprize winner in the 2014 NYOC Mozart Vocal competition. Ms GennadiMatyusheva is a student of soprano FrédériqueVézina.
