Hi! My name is Natalie Parker and i'm a sophomore with a risk management and insurance major. I have so many aspects of my life I could talk about but one that's been really reoccurring my life recently has been my passion for music. My parents were definitely my biggest influence. My dad is in a band so I always was around music and I was always listening to my parents music on the radio or on my dad's iPod. I was exposed to a mix of indie-ish, old country, and all kinds of different bands which I automatically fell in love with. My favorites were Wilco, My Morning Jacket, Willie Nelson, and the Bee Gees (quite the mix). This love for music carried on throughout my up and coming and still is apparent today. Iv'e definitely gotten a wider variety of genres I listen to but they still circulate around those key bands from when I was a kid. Right now Im super into late 90's and 2000's kind of indie alt rock, favorites are the Strokes, Interpol, and Radiohead (duh). Also giving a honorable mention to 2000's britpop. Another thing I really enjoy doing is going to concerts. Its one of the reasons I love Athens so much, its got such diversity when it comes to music and some great venues. Ive been lucky enough to see some of my favorite artists in the past few weeks which is crazy. I recently saw ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kurt Vile (at the 40 watt woohoo), and Ryan Adams and the Cardinals. Anyways, Id say music is one of my biggest motivators in life and has stayed constant throughout my whole life.
