Naved Surve

Chester, New Jersey

As is likely the case for many people, a writeup about me can be divided into two generations. BK (Before Kids) and AK (After Kids).

Before Kids,

I raced sailboats (Solings and Lasers) in the summer

I snowboarded in the winter.

Once, in a fit of madness, I even raced sailboats in the winter time --

I was known as a technical guru, able to set up web sites, measure their activities and optimize to ensure they performed as needed

I lived in a small apartment in Hoboken NJ, later upgrading to a less small space in Jersey City

I tinkered with smoking a brisket in a flowerpot

My wife and I took walks exploring the Hudson River Park

After Kids

The Family manages to daysail a couple of times a summer. We are looking for a good place to park our Lasers

The kids are just now getting old enough now to head to the mountain

We explore now on the Patriots Path

We bike on the Columbia Trail

None of what I knew before kids about technology is lost, but I have gained experience in dealing with larger teams, directing the technology work to meet requirements, and mentring others, both local and offshore, to succeed

We live in a house with a yard - to go running around outside

I still am tinkering with smoking that brisket -- and other things! -- but no longer in a flower pot but in a barrel style grill. It tastes much better now, not because the grill is better but I have gotten better at doing it with experience

Some things have not changed

I still love to cook and eat good food

I still love exploring new technology

I still love to tinker and explore
