Not long ago, my creative spirit awakened after years of neglect. It seems to have grow out of the vacuum of my empty nest when our youngest daughter went off to college. As I adjusted to not listening for her car pulling into the driveway after work or school, I started to feel the stirring of my creative spirit. Like a bear coming out of hybernation and into the sunlight, my imagination sought nourishment in the beauty and richness of nature. My senses seemed more aware and alive and every leaf, rock and patch of moss beckoned me to try to recreate, however abstractly, the escense of it's character.
That is when I discovered that gourd art was to become the medium of my expressions. And with that discovery, I started my journey into the next, and maybe even the best chapter of my life.
A little more about my current and previous chapters. I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I have a high stress job in the Social Services department of the local hospital. My husband, family and friends are supportive of my dreams and goals. And I have the joy of coming home each work day to two horses, a donkey, two dogs and five cats and a good husband. Life is good.
I hope to learn and grow as an artist and a person by developing an online community through this blog.
Welcome to my journey.
