Honolulu, Hawaii

Ever since I can remember, I have been intrested in biology, science, and marine organisms. Even though I was living in Maryland, and could rarely go to the ocean, I have always loved the blissful feeling of being completly submerged and surrounded in water.

Since the moment I got my scuba diving lisence, I knew, this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I have glimpsed what was possible, and there was really no going back. I was dying to go diving again since I got my lisence, however, finance is sometimes an issue with my family.

This summer, I interned at KupuHawaii. It is an organization striving for natural resource management, renewable energy, and energy management. In this internship, I completed 300 environmental community hours and worked on the field of various sites around the island of Oʻahu. At the completion of the internship, I traveled to Kahoʻolawe to complete some restoration work. The final benefits were a college credit and an Education Award to help me pursue my education. In doing this internship, I have realized the importance of conservation.

My dream is to mix conservation with my passion for diving, exploring new sites, and marine organisms.
