Ned Blair

With over ten years in the hospitality industry I have been able to build a diverse background, which has given me the opportunity to work with many industry professionals, hoteliers and meeting planners alike. Originally from Winston Salem, NC, I began my hospitality career in Virginia at Mountain Lake Hotel, which was made famous from the movie classic Dirty Dancing. In the spring of 2001 I relocated to Delaware, which is where I call home today. During my career I have directed sales efforts for a 2400 acre mountain resort, an oceanfront convention hotel and a third tier Convention and Visitors Bureau. I have also served as the Director of Hotel Sales for Dover Downs Hotel and Casino and in the winter of 2008 I joined Hyatt Hotels and Resorts as an Associate Director of Sales. In May 2010 I was given the opportunity to join the Delaware State Tourism Office as the Tourism Development Leader for Meetings and Conventions, which is where I am today. During my career I have had the privilege to serve as a Committee Chair for the PMPI (Meeting Professional International, Potomac Chapter) and PAMPI (Meeting Professional International, Pennsylvania Chapter). From 2006-2008, I served as a Board Director for PMPI and was the recipient of the chapter’s 2005-2006 PMPI Rising Star Award. In addition to my industry “real world” experience, I have also been fortunate enough to successfully complete continuing educational programs through Virginia Tech, HSMAI (Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International) and Hyatt Hotels and Resort. My goals in life are to work hard, create an excellent reputation within the hospitality industry and push myself to the highest level of professionalism that I can; all while maintaining a good work life balance.
