Greetings! This page tells you about me and what makes me tick.

I'm Professor of Design Engineering and Executive Dean of Research and International Reputation, meaning that I am responsible for NTU's global partnerships - from habitat restoration in Kenya, public health promotion in Uganda to Medical Engineering in India, I'm proud of our impact on the world.

My research focuses on Human Factors and how to engineer the world to maximise performance, comfort and well-being of people. This might be working with the oldest drivers, through to studying the most extreme environments. I currently lead projects focusing on aircraft and marine environments. I organise Comfort Congress. I'm non-exec director for a sustainable technical sports clothing brand.

I'm passionate about off-road bike racing and race for Grity Race Team, and I present The Crosscast podcast throughout the winter.

I'm a past-president of the CIEHF and on editorial boards of Ergonomics and of Vibration.

I'm dad to 1 aerospace engineer, 1 microbiologist, and two students (Fine Art and Cell Biology).I think they're the bee's knees.
