Over 20 years’ experience leading, troubleshooting and delivering business change, technology-enabled and Agile transformation initiatives. Through these diverse initiatives, have reinforced an Agile business ethos, developed new ways of working across functional business areas, with success in introducing and driving Agile adoption. Additionally, have trained and coached teams, mentored managers and leaders in over a dozen organisations.
Agile practitioner since the 1990’s. Launched in 1991, on software development of RAD (Rapid Application Development) projects for NatWest Bank – some of the first agile projects in the UK); progressed through the 1990s (software and product development using DSDM primarily for Reuters, global SIs and financial sector firms), further in the 2000s solutions and products developed with Agile techniques (Rational Unified Process (RUP) & DSDM, Scrum, Lean & Extreme programming (XP)). Further expanded over the last decade to encompass Agile programme delivery and organisational change (AgilePM, AgilePgM, SAFe, LeSS, Disciplined Agile, Nexus).
He is also an author of thought leadership (published through multiple consulting organisations), insightful agile and project leadership blogs, and co-authored project management and agile books, including the Gower Handbook of People in Project Management.
