As President of the Mortgage Division of Pacific Mercantile Bank, Mr. Kornswiet runs the daily operations within the division, and shares the responsibility of managing the Bank as a whole. Although his division was once losing money, it has become the most profitable division of Pacific Mercantile Bank while under his leadership. Moreover, he has negotiated many notable capital-raising transactions for the company. In addition to his main role as division president within the Bank, Mr. Kornswiet is a member of the Bank’s Board of Directors, as well as its Office of the President.
Before beginning his career in residential real estate finance, Neil Kornswiet worked as a partner at the Los Angeles-based law firm McKenna, Conner & Cuneo. Mr. Kornswiet has a diverse educational background because of his varied professional experience. A graduate of Ohio State University, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and studied business administration as well as accounting. He graduated summa cum laude and was honored with numerous academic awards. Following his undergraduate studies, Neil Kornswiet went on to graduate cum laude with a JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
Actively engaged in several charitable causes, Mr. Kornswiet supports the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Arthritis Foundation, and Orangewood Children’s Home, among others. In his free time, he enjoys running and piloting airplanes.
