I am an experienced writer, editor, translator and teacher.

I am a Spanish, Portuguese and Welsh to English translator, specialising in business, finance, economics and marketing. Major projects include a UNESCO World Heritage Site bid and BBC current affairs documentaries. I have particular expertise in fintech. I can also translate and edit academic material in any aspect of the social sciences and humanities.

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management at Birkbeck, University of London, and co-author of the textbook Technology Strategy. I have over eleven years of experience as a country risk analyst and consultant, specialising in Latin America.

I write regularly on Latin America for Oxford Analytica and the Economist Intelligence Unit. My writing has been published in The Guardian, The Independent, The Conversation and other high quality media. I am interviewed regularly on CNN, the BBC Radio 4 Today Programme, CNBC, Bloomberg, CGTN and elsewhere.

I hold a PhD and BA first class honours degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Liverpool. My higher education includes extensive study of translation. I also have a BA in economics from the Open University. I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
