Hello, my name is Neil and this is my fifth and final year at Frostburg State University. I am originally from Olney, Maryland which is located in Montgomery County. In Olney, I live with my parents, identical twin brother, and two dogs. In my spare time, I do like to read, eat, shop, and sleep. After I graduate from Frostburg, I hope to pursue teaching and eventually go to graduate school for a masters’ degree in special education. I loved my induction days. My mentor teacher is very nice, knowledgeable, and resourceful. This semester, I am in a fifth grade class at Beall Elementary. I was in fourth grade last Spring at Beall for my assistantship and it is nice to see some familiar faces. Although my first internship is in the same setting as my assistantship, I seem to have a more fun and easier transition this time around. With that being said, I cannot wait to be back in the elementary classroom for I am excited to sharpen my craft in teaching young minds. I am also excited to be reunited with my classmates as I have missed them over the summer. From this class, I hope to learn how to accurately assess students in a variety of ways formally as well as informally. I feel last semester we barely touched the surface with our studies of assessment and I cannot wait to see what this semester brings.
