Everyone has that one comfort activity they can go to if they ever need to relax or just take some time to themselves. For me, that hobby is working on cars. Since I was young, watching my uncle work on our family cars as his hobby hooked me. The satisfaction I get from creatively changing and improving a car, whether a small tweak or a major project, is where I feel the most comfortable.
Over the years as I gained more experience, my skills and confidence grew. I started focusing on more complex modifications and even began sharing my knowledge with friends who shared this passion. As time has gone on, working on cars has become less of a time-passer and more of a lifelong hobby.
Since I was young, much of the spare time of my day went to thinking about new projects to pursue or specific ways I could improve on an ongoing one. Throughout high school, especially when I got my first car, any breaks in between studying for my tests or completing homework would be spent in the garage, deep cleaning my car, or working on another project. Whether it be on my own car, or a family member, or a friend's, any car work excited me.
Today, as most of my time is dedicated to managing college life, working on cars or my bike remains my go-to activity for relaxation and personal fulfillment. Every time I start a new project, I get another lucky opportunity to apply the lessons I've learned throughout my years of work. The excitement of seeing a project come together and become a finished project are of great importance to me.
