My name is Kaniqua Sanders but most people just call me Neka. I am a senior at NCCU majoring in family and consumer science and minoring in child development and family relations. I haven’t figured out exactly what I want to do with it yet but I know that I want to help children become better people not just for themselves but for the generation. I think that is one of the main reasons I chose this field. I want to be a positive influence on children because they are the future.
I don’t have any birth children but I have a godson and goddaughter. They are important to me because they will grow up to be someone in this world and not just what typical black people do. I want them to make a name for themselves early in life. I think with me being apart of their life is a good thing because I can help them create a positive support team, at which I think every person should have.
I was never really big on education until my sophomore year of college when things really started to get serious. Now I think that everyone should try to do their very best and not just go through the motions to get a passing grade. Without education, there is only so much that you will be able to do and you can only go but so far. If you ever just need someone to talk to, I am that person. I always try to listen and give my best advice!
