Neli Vazquez-Rowland
Chicago, Illinois, United States
Neli Vazquez-Rowland has been actively involved in establishing A Safe Haven Foundation (ASHF) since she co-founded it in 1994. With the help of her husband, Brian, Neli Vasquez-Rowland formed this social enterprise aiming to eradicate the root causes of social and economic issues like poverty, homelessness and substance abuse. She grew up witnessing the huge toll such issues can take on families and individuals and was always determined to help such families, especially among minorities.
Neli graduated from Loyola University’s School of Business and completed the Minority Executive Management Program from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business. She has unwaveringly sought long-term solutions for poverty and its harsh byproducts to help people break out of the vicious cycle and ASHF. Now a successful vertically-integrated social enterprise, it’s helped more than 70,500 people find their footing in the world and live a proud, healthy life propelled by financial self-sufficiency.
