Nelly Yoa is a footballer that divides opinions across the game, Yoa is viewed as one of the hottest young strikers/Winger in Australia in his teens with raw talent, but has courted controversy during his short career.

Strengths: Agile, quick and powerful, he has all the attributes that a top-class striker/Winger should have.

Weaknesses: Temperamental and hot-headed, his off-field issues overshadow his talent. His work-rate and attitude have also been criticised.

Career highlights: Prior to heading to the United Kingdom to pursue his dreams as a professional, Yoa played semi-professional local soccer with Oakleigh Cannons and Springvale White eagles in the VPL.Yoa then went on to signed for Wolverton Town FC in the English lower Leagues. After his contact ended at Wolverton Town FC, He signed a 6 months Contract to play with Qormi Football Club in the Maltese Premier League Along side Mario Balotelli Younger brother Enoch Balotelli while in Malta. He also lived in the same house with Belgium International Superstars Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard While trailing with Chelsea Football Club. He also trialed in the Vietnamese Premier League with
Hoàng Anh Gia Lai who is owned by Arsenal Football Club in the English Premier League but couldn't secure a contract.
Career Low: In March 2013, he came under heavy criticism from fans after he publicly got involved in gang related incident in Australia, leading to an apology on the club's website.

Trivia: He was born in south sudan.His one of 23 siblings. He was offered a soccer scholarship by NCAA in America. While at College He attended Westall Secondary College, Maranatha Christian School and Wellington Secondary College in South eastern suburb of Melbourne.

After negotiation felt through to play in the Hyundai A-League with Melbourne City Football Club in September 2016.

In January 2017, Yoa switched sporting code and converted to play in the Australian Rule Football (AFL) after unsuccessfully trialling with AFL Powerhouse Collingwood Football Club, He went on to play for Rowville Football Club in the EFL, Yoa since train with North Melbourne Football Club and Western Bulldogs Football Club in the VFL.

In January 2018, Yoa made national headlines for his Editorial opinion piece in the Age newspaper. It is rumored that he will continue to write on a weekly basis for Fairfax Media.
