A power systems engineer and project manager by profession with experience performing, supervising, and project managing C/I, distribution, transmission, and generation electrical apparatus, system protection and communications testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting (including wind, solar, nuclear) with impeccable safety and reliability record; utility modernization thought leader, with proven experience overseeing and enhancing the non-conformance testing and meter data analytics processes for over 2 million smart meters; interfacing with manufacturers and other AMI groups to address reliability concerns arising from in-house quality assurance, field data and shop testing processes; implementation of six sigma and ISO 9001 quality management systems; employing a number of novel data analytics and business intelligence tools and testing facilities for product validation to reliability investigations; successful business development, project management and customer relations experience in energy and non-profit sectors.

Abreu has served as Student Representative for Society for Scientific Exploration and is a contributing author of Filters and Reflections: Perspectives on Reality, a publication by ICRL of the former PEAR Laboratory at Princeton University, where he initiated his investigations on consciousness and engineering. His research has encompassed consciousness and biological evolution, consciousness and physics/engineering, out-of-body experience, subtle energy and psychometry. He is also a volunteer with ICRL, formerly Princeton University's PEAR Lab and has collaborated with Society for Scientific Exploration, two organizations Thomas Anderson has worked with as well.

Nelson Abreu is currently assistant scientific director for International Academy of Consciousness. He began experiencing and studying multidimensional consciousness in 1998 while in high school in Fort Lauderdale where he ran the Conscientiology Club, a precursor to University of Florida's Science of Self Club, which organized a number of symposia and the first curricular psychology course on consciousness featuring the consciential paradigm. He has presented at University of Arizona, Utah Valley State College, University of Miami, Florida International University, Miami-Dade College, University of Florida, Penn State, California, Tennessee, Texas, Canada, Mexico and his native Portugal.
