Nelson Faerber

Prior to playing wide receiver at Clemson University from 2004 until 2009, Nelson Faerber was first-team all-county and all-region at Chattahoochee High School in Alpharetta, Georgia, setting the school’s record for career touchdown catches. Despite offers from the U.S. Air Force Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy, Faerber chose to attend Clemson University after meeting with former receivers coach and current head coach Dabo Swinney. After his redshirt freshman year at Clemson, Nelson Faerber was invited as a walk-on player, becoming a valuable wide receiver and special teams player for the Tigers in the following years. As a result of his hard work and consistent performance, Nelson Faerber was awarded a full scholarship to play for the Tigers in 2007.

During a game against Philadelphia’s Temple University in 2006, Nelson Faerber recovered a fumble in the end zone and scored a touchdown. In 2007, he made a four-yard catch and scored a touchdown against the University of South Carolina, Clemson’s long-time rival. During that same game, Mr. Faerber also made four catches and blocked a punt that was returned for a touchdown, giving Clemson a narrow 23-21 victory. During the 2008 spring practice, his coaches named him most improved wideout, and he made five catches in the spring game.

Nelson Faerber graduated from Clemson University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science and Management. In addition to his football scholarship and other athletic awards, Mr. Faerber made the dean’s list in 2006, and he earned a spot on the honor roll in multiple semesters.
