Nelson Sanz-Cadena is a humanitarian worker originally from Caracas, Venezuela. His passion for traveling and learning about new cultures was ignited when he did a student exchange program in the United States, during his senior high school year. He began his career as humanitarian worker after completing his Bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Central University of Venezuela in 2006. Since, Nelson has worked in various roles in community development, emergency response and human rights advocacy across South-East Asia and Australia. His drive for academic, professional and personal development led him to embark in the Rotary Peace Fellowship program. This two-year graduate program in Tokyo enabled him to study a Master’s Degree in Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution. Nelson also earned a Master's Degree in International Business from Macquarie University, Sydney. Based in Adelaide, Australia, Nelson works in the Emergency Services team at the Australian Red Cross.

Nelson completed in August 2015 his training to become a ShelterBox Response Team Member, which will allow him to support ShelterBox’s work in disaster relief operations around the world.

Nelson is a ShelterBox Team Member & Ambassador and a Rotary Foundation Alumni.
