Lots of people ask if I am a native New Yorker - Yep - grew up in Long Beach, Long Island. Best place in the world for a kid in the summer! Typical day for me was going to the beach (3 blocks from home), then coming home early evening, jumping into my row boat in the canal behind my house, and going "crabbing" for blue crabs with a pole with a rope net on the end, then maybe clamming in the bay...need I say more?
