I am a visual artist from the Mt. Hood wilderness of the Pacific NW that now lives in the concrete hills of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
VISUAL ARTWORK: I come from a long line of professionally gifted artists. I learned at a very young age how to sketch, watercolor and I began doodling at the age of six. By middle school I was more involved in acrylic and line art. I have exhausted most mediums and will keep trying more and more until I only fit just a few. I can’t sing or play an instrument…God obviously wanted me to create my children and art.
DIGITAL ARTWORK: I’ve been creating artistic Powerpoint slides since 1998. A close friend of mine gave me Adobe Photoshop in 2005 and I instantly fell in a love/hate relationship. Self taught with a little help from fellow artists, I started creating digital artwork. A couple months later I bought my first amateur DSLR camera, a Canon Rebel. I then followed through with using my own digital photographs, processing those images through Adobe Bridge and Lightroom onto Photoshop, painting with a digital brush, sometimes a Wacom pad, using a couple layers to hundreds, a few non Adobe filters I plugged in and I would create some interesting artwork.
PHOTOGRAPHY: I have been taking images since 2005. I’ve done it all it seems. From album covers, websites, brochures, newspapers, businesses, flyers, posters, food menus, musicians, concerts, art shows, events, models, fashion, glamour, couples, children, portraits, families, animals, landscapes, clients from all over the world…list goes on. I have taken long stretches of breaks, I always seem to come back. Last couple of years had been a struggle, I don’t seem to like it as much or I have forgotten my talent. I am sure the spark will happen soon enough. I have a Canon 7D now and have about 25k clicks so far. My little Canon Rebel I bought in 2005 I gave to my mom and that poor thing had well over a million clicks and it is still snapping away (I love Canon). I doubt I will be upgrading my 7D anytime soon, I don’t see any fathomable reasons hobbies need expensive gadgets. I do one day want a Canon EOS-1D or a 5D Mark III with all the expensive equipment that goes with them…ahhhh….dreams, I bought a motorcycle instead.
