Nereida García

Nereida García, American soprano, has sung as a main stage artist for Opera in the Heights, The Living Opera, as an apprentice artist for Sarasota Opera, and as an artist in residence for Amarillo Opera. Miss García was also a finalist in the Dallas Opera Guild Competition, the Lois Alba Aria Competition, and has sung multiple concerts in support of education for children and adolescents. She has performed in the United States, the United Kingdom and Mexico.
Her operatic roles include Juliette in Roméo et Juliette, Contessa Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Cio Cio San in Madama Butterfly, Mimì in La bohème, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Adina in L’elisir d’amore, Mary Warren in The Crucible, and the title role in Cendrillon.
Miss García continues to sing locally and internationally. She also maintains a voice and piano studio where she instructs singers ages ranging from children to adults in the DFW metroplex and the Rio Grande Valley.
