Nesby Phips
New Orleans native Nesby Phips, born Courtney A. Nero, hustle is unmatched. Period. He's quietly earned the respect as a musical hybrid spitting with and producing for some of raps current elitist. Nesby has worked with artists such as Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, Tabi Bonney, Chip the Ripper, Fiend, Phil Ade, Re, Stalley, DJ Toomp, Big Sant, Smoke Dza, GLC, Skip, Ski Beatz, Scar, Aaron Neville, Trombone Shorty, Mad Lion, LEP Bogus Boys, Yin Yang Twinz, Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Dee-1, LG, and Mack Maine. In 2009 Nesby introduced his emcee side to the world via The Phipstape. Along with the 2010 follow-up, The B-Side, fans soon learned that the dope producer was also no joke on the mic. Landing placements on Curren$y Pilot Talk 1 & 2 with “Prioritize” & “Hold On” displaying both hands. At the start of 2011, Nesby offered fans, both old and new, a chance to catch up on who he is through the aptly titled The Catch Up, which included previously released fan favorites such as “Supply”, “Mazaltov Cocktail”, and “Word to these Bo Jacksons.” Since then Phips has made a seamless transition into the multimedia world scoring films and being the music supervisor for iPhone video game app 'Mardi Brah'. In addition to holding down role of artist Phips wears the executive hat as owner of his label/production company Bakadahouse Music, as well as Co-Owner of 0017th record label. The ambitious great nephew of Mahalia Jackson still manages to find time to create as he is gearing up for the 'Simply Phips' project, which is set to drop this fall. Pay attention to to Nesby as he carves out his piece in the history of music.
