He served for almost two decades as Commissioner of the San Francisco Residential Rent Board, a tenant’s-rights watchdog dedicated purely to the interests of the working people of the city against unfair housing practices. Previous to his commissionership, Neveo also served the San Francisco Apartment Association as well as the Coalition for Better Housing in leadership roles. A seat on the Board of Directors of the California Apartment Association placed him as one among the leading figures of the nation's largest statewide organization representing the rental housing industry.
