Christie Newbon

Consultant, Photographer, and Dancer in Sydney

Hi, I'm Christie Newbon - I work at the place where commercial partnerships meet purpose. Over more than 25 years across pharmaceutical and publishing partnerships, healthcare, government and not-for-profit settings, I've built a career around the idea that revenue and measurable social impact are stronger when designed together. I'm also a Sydney-based Charity Ambassador and hold a Post Graduate MBA in Marketing and Strategy from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Psychology from the University of Wollongong.

I've grown revenue through tenders, proposals and multi-year, million-dollar partnerships with CSL, GSK, Sanofi, AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Novartis. On the grant side, I've secured and led funding for Cancer Australia, Head and Neck Cancer, Pancare and Neuroendocrine Cancer, and led the Department of Health Biosimilars program through to a successful national uptake increase. The Pfizer First Nations initiative – which I pitched and won as the first program of its kind, continues to improve access to preventative medicines in remote communities.

The work has been recognised year-on-year at the PRIME Industry Awards, including winning Best In Class Education in the NGO category in 2022. What ties the career together is the ability to align senior clinical, commercial and government partners around a shared plan – then deliver against it.

Today I'm focused on the causes sector, partnering with family offices, high-net-worth donors and philanthropic organisations who want the same discipline behind their giving as they bring to their commercial decisions. I volunteer with BaptistCare and HopeStreet, am Charity Ambassador for Our Big Kitchen, and sit on the committee of the North Foundation.
