Hiked 650 miles of the Oregon Trail across Nebraska, Wyoming, and Idaho when it was still undeveloped. Thirty-year career in public affairs at Cargill, State of Minnesota, and Second Harvest Heartland. Returned to writing after a 25-year lapse for career and children. Became bilingual, Spanish/ English, at the age of 65. Advocate for the civil rights of undocumented immigrants. Sometime English teacher in Oaxaca, Mexico.
