New Mozart School of Music
Palo Alto, Ca
Founded in 2004, the New Mozart School of Music has grown to be the largest music school in Palo Alto, California, with more than 500 students enrolled. Offering private music lessons in a variety of instruments, the New Mozart School of Music has 28 university-trained music and vocal instructors on its faculty and several distinctive instructional groups for various levels.
Private lessons at New Mozart cater to children as young as 4 years old and individuals of any age interested in music. One-on-one instruction is the most effective means of learning an instrument and offers unparalleled attention and focus on a student's progress and pace. Lessons are given in 30-minute, 45-minute, and hour-long intervals and are available for most instruments, including piano, violin, cello, guitar, and flute. Group lessons are also available.
New Mozart offers a special program called Harmony Road, which was created by the school's founder and Director Christine Shin. A keyboard-based program designed especially for young children, Harmony Road uses facets of a few musical instruction philosophies, such as Montessori and Kodaly, and merges them into a fun, engaging program. One of the unique aspects of the program is the emphasis on the involvement of parents, who are expected to attend classes and coach children in their downtime at home.
The Toddler Tunes program at New Mozart is the perfect introductory program for children ages 2 and 3. The 18-week program offers toddlers the chance to exercise their curiosity and need for discovery with rhythm instruments and singing. Additionally, they explore the piano and are introduced to solfege, generally recognized as the "do-re-mi" scale.
In addition to the bevy of programs, New Mozart presents an exciting programming schedule featuring student and teacher recitals.
