Noah Flegel

I am Noah Flegel and this is the story of how I started my wakeboarding and surfing career, through to today. I saw some kids wakeboarding behind my house when I was 4 and wanted to try. They saw I could inline skate and was decent on a skateboard so they decided to teach me and my brother. If felt so cool sliding across the water and doing little hops. About a year later I met Dean Lavelle, my coach. He was super fun to hang out with so my brother and I started taking lessons for fun. We met Steel Lafferty and Rami Merritt and their siblings. We were all learning new tricks and just having a great time at LTS. (Lavelle Train Station) One day, Jimmy LaRiche came out and we were there for his first ever boat session. They all encouraged me and Keenan to come to Orlando and complete at Gravel Tour. We did and then we were hooked. I've been competing at USA and WWA events since I was 6 years old. Last summer I won two World titles, WWA Jr Men Worlds and Nationals and IWWF Worlds 14 and under. I also came in 3rd at Wakesurf Worlds in the Pro Men Skim division behind Drew Danielo and my brother Keenan.

This last year i was awarded the great honor of being chosen as the Sports Illustrated Sports Kid of the Year. It was cool to be recognized in New York at the Sportsman of the Year awards presentation and on the Cartoon Network, Hall of Game show on TV. This year i am very excited to be riding on the Pro Tour and have made it on the podium .

In my spare time I love to spearfish off my dock and surf, whenever there are waves in the ocean. I am a 9th grader at the North Broward Preparatory School. Thanks to my parents and sponsors for helping me. I will choose a college somewhere where I can wakeboard and surf.
