Tony Nguyen

Hi everyone!

My name is Tony and I am currently teaching Grades 2-8 Music and Coverage both in person and online. I am so thrilled to be taking this AQ with hopes to gain more knowledge on how to effectively integrate technology into the classroom and become a leader of technology in my school!

I graduated from York University for both my degrees in Music (Classical Clarinet and Composition) and Education. I am currently P/J/I/S qualified and looking to focus my additional learning on elementary music and technology - my two passions!

I am currently in my third year of teaching and so far my experiences have been mainly as a coverage/rotary teacher. I am very fortunate to be in my second year as a permanent teacher, where I will get the opportunity to develop my own music program.

Outside of teaching, my hobbies include video games, skiing, and of course music. I am a member of a Japanese taiko (drumming) ensemble and pre-pandemic, also taught classes for adults and children.

I hope to gather a lot of new information about integrating technology into my lessons to make them more effective and unique. I am excited to have this opportunity to learn and work together!
