I am married and have three daughters and four grandchildren. I live in upstate New York with my wife and youngest daughter of 9. We live a modest living and carry on day to day.

I served for 20 years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps from 1989 - 2009. I have served all over the world and been deployed in support of the Persian Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In 2008, I was in Al Asad Iraq when the financial collapse happened. I was contemplating what I was going to do when I retired from the military in 2009. Retirement was going to be a huge change for me and my family financially. With the financial markets and the economy in total disarray I was really nervous about what the future would hold.

It was then that I read the book, "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. Since reading that book I have had a different view on making money and being successful. I realized that I could earn a good living working for someone else, but I could not be happy being told what I was worth by someone else.

I went and earned my degree in Business Finance from the State University of New York - Empire State College so that I could understand what forces were moving the financial markets. I learned about investing, bonds, stocks, interests rates, business finance, international finance markets and the driving forces behind all of these. Once I learned all of this I realized that I wanted to work for myself and help others to understand financial freedom and work towards it.
