Twice deployed to Southern Afghanistan working in dangerous Joint NATO environment. Interfaced three different Coalition networks into Task Force THOR and Task Force RUGGED including: Canadian TACNET, Mission Secret NATO ISAF, and Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIX); allowing freedom of movement for over 60,000 kilometers of route clearance missions. Interfaced network and automations at company level TOC (Tactical Operations Center) through Marines Wing Communications Squadron (MWCS) 2/8 and 3/8 to sister battalion 14th Engineer Battalion for communications via SIPR/NIPR/CENTRIX and VOIP/VOSIP. Planned and installed over 25,000 feet of CAT 5 and fiber optic cable to establish these networks into facilities that were non-existent when unit arrived to Afghanistan.
