Nick Lonien has been playing music for 11 years. But, it took several years before he decided to devote himself to Electric Bass. Over the years he has performed in many bands and jazz ensembles. While in high school he and his band got in to the semifinals of Seattle's biggest youth battle of the bands competition called Sound Off!. Soon he attended Cornish College of the Arts where he received training from noted players such as Chuck Deardorf, Jovino Santos Netos, and Randy Halberstadt. During this period he continued to play in many different jazz ensembles, bands, clubs and youth centers including The Royal Room, Poncho Concert Hall, and Tula's Jazz Club. He even performed at Sound Off! a second time with a different group. He also performed with well-known artists Nicole Mitchell and Wayne Horovitz. He is currently living in Seattle.
