Compliagent is a healthcare technology and regulatory solutions firm focusing on creating and maintaining compliance infrastructure for healthcare providers through consulting services and software products. Compliagent also provides its clients with strategic, operational, and clinical support. Compliagent's clients range from a national chain of long term care facilities with almost one-hundred locations across the United States to smaller healthcare technology startups. Compliagent is unique in its ability to scale its services and products for a broad spectrum of provider types, sizes, and geographic locations while remaining focused on business realities and compliance goals.
As Compliagent's Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Board of Directors, Nick has been instrumental in building the firm’s internal operations and processes since the firm's inception -- including its finance, human resources, innovation, legal, marketing, and business development/sales functions -- as well as expanding Compliagent's client base, services and products, areas of substantive expertise, geographic reach, industry partnerships, and technology development. Compliagent’s gross revenues and employee headcount have more than doubled since Nick took over as Chief Executive Officer 2013.
A former corporate litigation attorney, Nick has a deep understanding of changing state and federal laws and policies as they relate to organizational governance issues, board oversight and liability, compliance auditing, the Stark Law, the Anti-kickback Statute, HIPAA privacy, IT/data security, and the False Claims Act. Nick also has particular expertise in the areas of alternate payment methodologies, innovative provider structures and networks within the healthcare industry, and healthcare insolvency and bankruptcy issues.
Previously, Nick was an attorney with Wolf, Rifkin, Shapiro, Schulman & Rabkin, LLP in Los Angeles where he advised healthcare providers and payors on regulatory and business matters. He began his legal career at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP in Washington, D.C.
