Nicholas Patterson

A passion of mine for as long as I could remember is music. Whether it is listening, dancing, or playing music has always been something that I have always loved.

My interest with music started at a extremely early age. Growing up, most kids wanted to be firefighters, policemen, or even president someday. I, however, always aspired to be a musician or a singer. I began playing my first instrument, the saxophone, when I was 10 years old. I proceeded to teach myself how to play the recorder and the drums.

As I grew older, I noticed that my musical taste buds began to expand. At a younger age, I would exclusively listen to rock music. Today, there is not a genere of music that I can truly say I do not enjoy. I love how different generes can evoke a certain emotion not only out of me, but out of the people around me as well. Being a track athlete my whole life, I always had a set genere of music that I would listen to pump me up for a race. However, I would never listen to that same genere when I am trying to study or at a party. I currently hold the rank of "best dj" out of all my friends because they think I play the best music at the right time. This is a title that means to me more than they will ever know.

Another aspect of music that is a passion of mine, and probably the one that is most important to me, is live music. There is no other feeling on the planet than the feeling of going to a concert. The atmosphere is so energizing and lively that you cannot help but want more once its over. Furthermore, in my opinion I alwats have had an extreme appreciation for an artist who can put on a great live performance. To me this shows how talented an artist truly is because anyone can sound professional on a recording, but not everyone can in a live perfomance. I have spent countless hours on YouTube looking up my favorite artists live performances and is a huge factor in whether I like an artist or not. This has resulted in me attending 10 concerts so far and definitely many more to come. Going to a concert is something that I think everyone should experience at lest once in their life.

I undoubtedly want to work with music. My love and passion for live music and music as a whole made me want to pursue a career in concert promotion. It is my dream to one day work for LiveNation and to work alongside with some of my favorite artists.
