Nicholas W. Ruickoldt, CPIA

CPIA Nicholas W. Ruickoldt was born in West Haven, CT on April 13th 1987. He attended Fairfield College Preparatory School and Graduated From Merrimack College in 2009. In 2010 Nicholas became a licensed insurance producer and a in 2013 became a CPIA. Nicholas joined The Russell Agency in 2009, concentrating on complex High Net-Worth Personal Lines Insurance solutions and small and mid-size commercial insurance exposures. He serves clients throughout the United States working with the industry’s most respected insurance companies.

Nicholas began his insurance career in Boston, MA in 2008 at one of the largest brokerages in Massachusetts. Thereafter he moved to Connecticut and began working for The Russell Agency and was licensed in Connecticut in 2009. Nicholas went through the AIG Private Client Group High Net-Worth Solutions Certification in New York City in 2010, and received his CPIA designation in early 2013. His active involvement in the insurance industry has prompted many company based initiatives and he has been a leader in providing clients, associates, and the insurance industry with up to date and accurate information on may pertinent insurance issues.

He is a contributor in many publications and a frequent guest speaker. He has been featured in WQUN 1220, The New Haven Register, The Connecticut Post, FCBJ, PIANET, Rough Notes Magizine, The Standard and More.

Nicholas served as the CTYIP Secretary in 2012 and is currently serving as the association’s President 2013 – 2015. He is active with The PIA of CT, serving as Business Issues Liaison in 2012 and the IIA of CT. He was the recipient of the CISR Scholarship by the Certified Insurance Counselors’ of CT in 2012, Agent of the Year by the CTYIP in 2014 and was the recipient of the coveted Fairfield County Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” award in 2014.

In 2015 Nicholas was awarded The National Young Insurance Professional of the Year award by PIA National for his contributions to the insurance industry.

Nicholas was a leading advocate for STOP FEMA NOW CONNECTICUT, an advocacy group to stop the rise of exorbitant flood premiums, which helped to successfully pass the Homeowner Flood Insurance Affordability Act of 2013 that resulted in modifications and premium reductions to the previously enacted 2012 law. Nicholas also serves on the Board of GROWERS, Inc, The West Haven City Council, CTDSCC, WHDTC serving as District Chairman and is a Commissioner at the WHFD
