Nicholas Blanchard

Nicholas Blanchard, PharmD, is an accomplished individual with decades of combined experience in clinical pharmacy and academia. Having excelled in these spheres over the course of his professional career, he has attained multiple distinctions and accolades. Dr. Nicholas Blanchard earned the title "Professor of the Year" three times, once at Campbell University in 1992, and subsequently at Washington State University's College of Pharmacy in 2000 and 2001. He also received the Community Service Award from the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists in 1997, and other honors related to his academic and clinical endeavors.

Dr. Nicholas Blanchard began his college education at Brevard College in North Carolina, where he graduated cum laude with an Associate of Arts. He followed his Associate degree with a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After taking a temporary break from education to accrue three years of practical experience as a pharmacist, Dr. Nicholas Blanchard went on to attend Campbell University. He earned a Master of Education while working as an assistant professor. Dr. Blanchard worked for several years as a specialist in clinical pharmacy, then studied at the University of Washington's School of Pharmacy, where he ultimately obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy.

After obtaining his doctorate, Dr. Nicholas Blanchard held simultaneous appointments for a full year: He worked as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Children's Medical Center of Dallas, and as an Associate Professor in Texas Tech University's School of Pharmacy from August 2001 to September 2002. In the same period, he also served as Associate Dean of Experiential Education then as Interim Regional Dean at Texas Tech University.

Dr. Nicholas Blanchard took on the mantle of Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at two separate universities between 2002 and 2008. Within that period, he also served as a regional medical scientist for GlaxoSmithKline. Today, Dr. Blanchard occupies the post of Dean and Professor at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore's School of Pharmacy and Health Professions. He takes pride in having played a role in the establishment of the institution's Doctor of Pharmacy program.
