Nicholas Mabila

Teacher and Volunteer in Johannesburg

Hello. My name is Nicholas Mabila, and I am a qualified teacher majoring in Life Sciences, Geography, and Natural Science. I obtained my qualification of Bachelor of Education at the University of Johannesburg. I finished my matric at S.G. Mafaesa Secondary School. I currently live in Johannesburg. I enjoy education, modeling, and gymnastics. I am also interested in travelling and biology.

I am a hard-working and compassionate educator who has always had an interest in pedagogy. I have seen the power of knowledge transfer from a professional educator to a young learner, and I am one of those learners. This event motivated me to seek a career in education. Furthermore, I tutor learners in Life Sciences and Geography mostly grade 12 learners, to improve my teaching skills.

I was accepted as an orange carpet student at the University of Johannesburg. I served as a student teacher during work-integrated learning at Mandisa Shiceka Secondary School, Mosupatsela Secondary School, SG Mafaesa Secondary School, and Madiba Comprehensive School, where I got excellent experience working with children from all backgrounds employing a learner-centered approach and inclusivity. I have crafted my classroom management throughout WIL.

As I am currently unemployed. I aspire to be a secondary school teacher who can nurture and inspire young students in the Life Sciences, Natural Sciences and Geography curriculum areas.
