Nicholas Porfilio
Expanding on an impressive academic history, Nick Porfilio is seeking multiple advanced degrees from Stanford University in California. In 2012, he expects to graduate with a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. Before enrolling in Stanford, Nick Porfilio graduated from Georgetown University with honors in 2007. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Finance and International Business. From 2005 to 2006, he studied finance and economics at The London School of Economics and Political Science, considered a top university for social science studies.
With a strong academic foundation, Nick Porfilio has developed professional skills in finance and research through several internships. In Washington, he worked in the office of then Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton as an Economic Policy Researcher. Nick Porfilio continued in political and financial research as an Intern at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., where he was part of a recognized team evaluating the effects of political parties on various industries.
In his first position after college, Nick Porfilio developed his expertise as an Analyst at Morgan Stanley, working in the firm’s Strategic Acquisitions Group. While there, he expanded his skills in strategy and business development in global markets, deal execution, competitor analysis, and team management. Nick Porfilio’s efforts at Morgan Stanley helped facilitate billions of dollars worth of investments around the world.
Nick Porfilio enjoys running, hiking, mountain climbing, and cycling near his current home in Palo Alto, California. He also participates in a variety of activities through Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, including groups focused on private equity, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and high technology.
